Delight in a seafood-centric menu featuring fresh seafood platters, buttery salmon, and whole Dover sole, all expertly prepared with Sodamin's signature panache. The attentive wait staff ensures that every moment at The Catch feels like a fine dining experience, making it a standout highlight of the culinary offerings onboard.
While The Catch is a standout, Crown Grill and Sabatini's Italian Trattoria also offer memorable dishes. Indulge in juicy porterhouse steaks at Crown Grill or savor tender osso buco with risotto Milanese at Sabatini's. Despite some misses in the menu, the overall dining experience at these specialty restaurants is elevated and enjoyable.
Gluten-free tip: The specialty restaurants were good at allergies and sensitivities, but it does limit your options. The gf pizza is terrible, we picked the cheese and toppings off and ate them without the crust.
Luxurious Breakfast with a View
Start your day with a decadent Ultimate Balcony Breakfast, featuring smoked salmon, pastries, and fruit delivered to your stateroom. While the pastries may be overly sweet, the high-quality breakfast spread is a luxurious treat, especially when enjoyed with a view of the coastline from your balcony.
Elevate Special Occasions
For a special occasion, consider indulging in “360”. While I would never want to ruin the surprises of the evening, trust that this is an experience beyond a good meal, where all five senses are employed to transport you to the Italian coast and countryside. Everyone in our dining group agreed that the event was well worth the spendy price tag.
Gluten-free tip: Make sure you have entered your dietary requirements in the app, they will have gf versions of the food for you.
Expansive Buffet Options
The Enchanted Princess offers two connected expansive buffets, World Fresh Marketplace and International Cafe, serving a diverse array of dishes from around the world. Enjoy made-to-order juices, fluffy pancakes, and flavorful curries, though you may find the buffet dishes lacking in spice. Opt for DIY options like creamy congee or build-your-own bagel sandwiches for a personalized dining experience.
Gluten-free tip: Princess does not allergy-label their buffet items. On the first day, ask to speak with one of the chefs. Don’t be shy about this. He or she will guide you through the buffet and tell you what is safe. On our cruise, there was always one corner of the dessert section designated for gluten free items. But it moved, so I needed to ask each day where the gf items were.
Standard Dining Options for Every Palate
For those sticking to a budget, the Enchanted Princess offers standard dining options with enough variety to avoid food fatigue. Choose from three main dining rooms, each offering a grand atmosphere and a diverse menu. While there may be some inconsistencies in the quality of dishes, as tends to happen when cooking en masse, standout items like shrimp cocktail and linguine with clams ensure a satisfying dining experience.
Gluten-free tip: Princess’ open seating system can make it trickier for us. If you feel comfortable with your server the first night, you can ask to be seated at one of his or her tables for the remainder of your cruise, speak to the Matre’d ahead of time. You can also request to order the next evening’s dinner, which will give the kitchen time to prepare a safe version of almost anything on the menu for you.
Casual All-Day Offerings
For casual dining, head to the Salty Dog Cafe for poolside burgers and fries, or indulge in wood-fired pizzas at Gigi's Pizzeria and Alfredo's Slice. Don't forget to utilize OceanNow, Princess' on-demand delivery service, for snacks, desserts, and cocktails delivered right to your stateroom.
Gluten-free tip: We were able to get gluten free options for some room service items and the canapes offered to elite members on formal nights. The option is not listed- we hand-wrote a note on our canape order and they delivered a safe version.
